Grab your hiking boots for a cinematic wander

There are walks and then there are incredibly scenic, cinematic walks that take twice as long as they should because you can’t help but stop to try and capture the scenery on your phone.

This is one such walk, recently voted the best 13-mile-or-less wandering route in the UK in a survey by Which? magazine.

Fifty-one walks were rated and Malham Cove and Gordale Scar in North Yorkshire came out on top, scoring highly for scenery, wildlife and places of interest. So basically all the things.

The stunning route has even featured on screen, appearing in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, so it’s got genuine film credentials too.

Other walks that topped the list include both the Botallack Mine Walk and Lizard Peninsula Circuit in Cornwall, the climb to the top of Helvellyn (that’s England’s third highest mountain FYI), Buttermere Circuit in the Lake District, the Grosmont-to-Goathland walk and a stamp around Rhossili Headland in Wales. You can check out the full list here
