Pro Football Focus updates Bills needs after free agency

USA News

Pro Football Focus listed two interesting positions of “need” for the Buffalo Bills after the first wave of free agency.

With the 2022 NFL draft approaching, the cornerback position is on the minds of many.

Not PFF.

The football analytics outlet instead thinks wide receiver and defensive tackle remain an issue.

Their breakdown can be found below:

Buffalo’s roster is about as complete as it gets. There’s no massive need on the roster, but the team could strengthen the wide receiver room.

Alabama’s Jameson Williams would be a big win with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft — he was the most dangerous pass-catcher in college football this past season before going down with a torn ACL in the National Championship Game. The speedy wideout gathered more 20-plus-yard touchdowns than anyone else in the FBS (12) last season.

Between the two PFF does highlight, the wide receiver position makes more sense.

The Bills are deep at the position, but when you have a passing offense with quarterback Josh Allen like Buffalo does? You give him as many playmakers as you can.

After all the spending the Bills did along the defensive line in free agency? The interior D-line analysis is confusing.

Buffalo signed the likes of Tim Settle, Jordan Phillips and DaQuan Jones to shore things up down the center.

All three of those players, plus Ed Oliver, have to prove they can get the job done…But at least there’s someone there to work for it.

At corner, Tre’Davious White is coming off a serious knee injury and Levi Wallace has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. That currently leaves Buffalo starting Dane Jackson and Cam Lewis at outside cornerback.

The Bills need to address that in a big way.
