CAPE TOWN – Constable Donay Phillips has been described as God-fearing, humble, disciplined and dedicated to his job.
The 32-year-old was among three people who were shot dead at New Somerset Hospital last weekend.
Former Vredenburg police officer Jean-Paul Malgas is accused of the murders and has since abandoned his bail bid.
A memorial service was held for Phillips in Sea Point, Cape Town.
Western Cape Police Commissioner Thembisile Patekile says justice will be served for the slain officer.
