Arsenal intent on signing Barcelona attacker in January, contact his entourage

Having an abundance of resources in the forward department is a dream of every top football club. Yet, it is not sustainable in the long run to keep high-quality players on the bench.

Barcelona face this very problem on their right wing. Ousmane Dembele is one of the world’s best wingers in terms of his creativity and dynamic ability. The Frenchman has become one of Xavi’s most trusted players and is an undisputed starter in today’s team.

Dembele’s success at the right wing, however, means a lack of minutes for Raphinha who pushed for a move to Catalonia just last summer.

According to reports from SPORT, Arsenal smell the possibility of stealing the Brazilian from Barcelona and are very serious about his signature. Mikel Arteta is a fan of the player and sees him fitting well in his Premier League-topping team.

The Gunners wish to sign Raphinha in the ongoing January transfer window if the possibility exists. To that end, they have contacted the Brazilian international’s entourage to explore the chance of a transfer.

The roadblock in their pursuit is that the winger still wishes to fight for a place under Xavi and make a mark on his dream club, even though he appreciates the interest from the Premier League leaders.

If the winger fails to secure a starting spot by the summer and is available on the market, Arteta’s side will once again make the swoop for his signing.

The 26-year-old has started seven games for the Catalans in La Liga this season. In that duration, he has managed to score two goals and provide two assists.

Xavi prefers to deploy the player on the left wing and he sees Dembele far superior on the right flank. However, Raphinha understands that his real strength lies on the right side and is willing to fight on that front despite the competition.
