Pedri has become one of the most exciting prospects in world football, following his rapid rise to prominence at FC Barcelona.
At the age of just 19, the Spaniard has firmly established himself as the beating heart of the Barça midfield. His creative prowess, coupled with his ability to orchestrate the game from the middle of the park have made him a lynchpin in the second line of press.
Many even consider the youngster one of the best midfielders in the world. That long list of admirers appears to include Villarreal duo Pau Torres and Samuel Chukuwueze as well.
In a recent rapid-fire Tiktok Q&A session by Adri Contreras, the Villarreal attacker and defender both chose Pedri when asked to name the best midfielder in the world.
Torres will have gotten a close look at Pedri, given that the two are teammates in the Spanish national team and will be hoping to play pivotal roles for their country in the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Barcelona signed Pedri in 2019 from Las Palmas, before loaning him out to his boyhood club for the remainder of the campaign. The midfielder returned to Camp Nou in 2020 and enjoyed a breakthrough under then-manager Ronald Koeman at the age of just 17.
Since then, he has not looked back and become a permanent fixture for club and country. The teenager won the Kopa Trophy and the Golden Boy Award last year and is tipped to scale greater heights with Barça.
